SONY’s New IMX766 Smartphone Image Sensor 2021-05-21

The IMX766 is a 50MP (1.0 μm pixel size) photosensor with a sensor size of 1/1.56” that offers 63% more light intake than the IMX586 (48MP, 1/2.0” 0.8μm). It produces sharper, cleared images in low-light conditions thanks to SONY’s proprietary night-shot algorithm. Digital Overlap HDR (DOL-HDR) generates three snapshots with varying degrees of exposure for the same image to improve low-light image clarity and produce more realistic images. The integrated 2 x 2OCL PDAF is capable of rapid focusing with just 1.25 lux of illumination. The photosensor has been adopted by the flagship smartphones of various brands so far. Please contact the vendor’s sales representatives for further information.
